The groundwork for this development was started in late 2012. The Timothy Group delivered a Strategic Plan to Southwest Chicago Christian School in June 2013 identifying issues and setting a course to address them.
A town hall meeting was held by the Southwest Chicago Christian School Board on April 30, 2015 during which they unveiled their plans to sell 2.25 acres of their property to Anthem Memory Care for $1,375,000 if the association approved the plan. The following meeting summary was posted on the official Southwest Chicago Christian School website, but was later taken offline.
If you scroll down to the last few pages of the meeting summary file you will see the proposed plan options that were originally envisioned for the southwest corner of the school property at the T-intersection of 102nd Street and Major Avenue. Not only did they consider building single family homes, but they also had options for a single-story memory care facility in addition to the two-story version on a more rectangular footprint.
However, unfavorable soil conditions were discovered at that location and the entire project was then moved to the northwest corner of the school property at the T-intersection of 101st Street and Major Avenue. The building setbacks required between the facility and the homes on the west & school on the east made the two-story version the only viable option.
